Title: "Joining Forces for Good: Donate Drive Collaborates with Campus Life for DODOS
On Sunday, November 27th, Donate Drive had the pleasure of collaborating with Covenant University’s Campus Life team for the annual David Oyedepo Days of Service (DODOS). This event is held in honor of the Chancellor of Covenant University’s birthday and provides an opportunity for students to give back to their community through service projects.
As part of this event, Donate Drive participated in the iServe initiative, where they helped out the food vendors in the cafeteria by selling food, drinks, and shawarma to fellow CU students. It was a fun and meaningful way to give back, and Donate Drive was grateful for the opportunity to serve.
The Campus Life team and the Community Development officer deserve recognition for their hard work organizing this event. Donate Drive would like to thank the volunteers who participated and gave their time and energy to make this event a success.
Donate Drive is grateful to God for His provision and guidance throughout the year and looks forward to continuing to serve and make a difference in their community in the coming year. The iServe initiative at DODOS was an excellent opportunity to engage with and serve their community, and Donate Drive is proud to have been a part of it.
In conclusion, the DODOS event is a great reminder of the importance of service and the impact that it can have on the lives of others. As we celebrate a heart of service, let us all find ways to give back to our communities and make a difference in the lives of those around us.
One of the primary focuses of the outreach was to share the gospel message with the children. The team taught them about Jesus and how He lives in each of them. As a result, 40 children accepted Jesus as their savior, and two even spoke in tongues. In addition to the gospel message, the children learned important life skills, such as self-esteem, teamwork, and conflict resolution.
The outreach would not have been successful without the support of community partners and leaders. Donate Drive engaged with community leaders, including the community matriarch, Mrs. Lola, and the Lagos Neighborhood Security Corps. These relationships were essential in helping the team reach more children and families and make a greater impact in the community.
Through fundraising efforts, Donate Drive raised N116,522, surpassing their initial goal of N100,000. The funds were used to provide provisions, stationeries, books, bibles and other items to the children and their families.
Overall, Love Outreach Oshodi was a successful and fulfilling program, impacting the lives of children and families in the community. Donate Drive is grateful for the support and contributions of volunteers, donors, and partners, and looks forward to the continued holistic development of the children and families they were able to serve. The organization remains committed to maximizing the impact of their programs and ensuring that funds are used in the most effective and responsible way possible.
