On April 22nd, Donate Drive joined forces with the Covenant University Build Team and Enactus CU to celebrate World Earth Day. As an organization committed to helping underprivileged children know Christ and live purpose-driven lives, we understand the importance of caring for our planet and all its inhabitants. This is why we were excited to participate in this event and promote a sustainable future.
During the event, we received a briefing session on the importance of taking care of the earth, after which we were mobilized to different locations around the campus to plant decorative trees and plants. We tilled the ground, placed the seedlings, covered them up, and watered them. We also had fun games and recess, and many of our volunteers won gift items from the giveaway session.
As stewards of God’s creation, it’s our responsibility to care for the earth and all its inhabitants. This is reflected in Psalm 24:1, which states that “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.” By taking care of the earth, we show our love for God and His creation. Our experience on World Earth Day was a meaningful reminder of this responsibility, and we are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to a sustainable future.
