On December 17th, Donate Drive held its final outreach event of the year, the Greater Light Outreach, in the Orile axis of Agege. Despite facing challenges in reaching our target, we were able to positively impact the lives of over 150 children and their families with the help of 21 dedicated volunteers.

Our team made intense preparations, particularly with regard to welfare. Through our fundraising efforts, we set a goal of N200,000 but were blessed to receive more than we anticipated, ultimately raising N300,000 to support the program. We couldn’t have done it without the generosity of our donors, volunteers, and partners.

During the outreach event, we centered our message on the importance of Christmas and the theme of greater light. We taught the children the memory verse of Matthew 5:16 and sang songs to reinforce the message. The kids also enjoyed several activities such as sword drills and musical chairs.

We held a breakout session for the female attendees, led by female volunteers. During this session, we distributed Bibles to each attendee, and the volunteers shared inspiring messages about the importance of faith and self-confidence.

In summary, the Greater Light Outreach was a joyous and impactful event, and we are grateful to have ended the year on a high note by reaching out to and supporting so many children and their families. We appreciate the dedication and commitment of our volunteers, donors, and partners, who helped us make a difference in the lives of these children. Stay tuned for more outreach events in the future!
